COLLEGE ADMISSION RULES (ACADEMIC SESSION 2026–27)
Admissions to the College shall be conducted in accordance with the provisions of the
National Education Policy (NEP) and the admission regulations prescribed by
Guru Jambheshwar University, Moradabad.
SECTION A
A - General Policies and Basis of Admission
1. Admission Process
-
The admission process in the University campus and affiliated colleges shall be
completely transparent and merit-based.
-
Admissions to all Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes in affiliated colleges
for the Academic Session 2026–27 shall be made through either:
- State-level/University-level Entrance Examination, or
- College-level Merit List, as prescribed for the respective programme.
-
Registration for admission must be completed through the College's official
Admission Portal, which shall also be accessible at the College.
-
Admission to M.Sc. Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, and Mathematics shall be based
solely on the Entrance Examination conducted by the University.
2. Application Procedure
-
Every applicant shall obtain the College Prospectus and complete the prescribed
Admission Application Form.
-
The completed application form must be submitted to the concerned Admission
Committee (constituted according to the class and subject), along with the required
self-attested photocopies and the original documents for verification.
-
Candidates seeking admission to the First Semester of B.A., B.Com., and B.Sc.
programmes shall attach self-attested photocopies of the following documents in
the prescribed order:
- High School Mark Sheet
- Intermediate Mark Sheet
- Character Certificate
- Transfer Certificate (T.C.)
- Caste Certificate (for Reserved Category Candidates only)
- Income Certificate

Domicile Certificate (applicable to Uttar Pradesh students who have passed the
Intermediate or Graduation examination from another State)
- Relevant Certificates for claiming Weightage or Reservation Benefits
-
Candidates seeking admission to Postgraduate (First Semester) programmes shall
also attach self-attested photocopies of the mark sheets of all three
years/semesters of their Undergraduate Degree.
3. Fee Submission
-
Candidates who fail to deposit the prescribed Admission Fee within the notified
deadline shall forfeit their claim to admission.
4. Eligibility
-
The minimum educational qualifications for admission to each programme shall be
as prescribed by the respective Statutory and Regulatory Bodies such as
BCI, AICTE, NCTE, PCI, MCI/NMC, or any other Competent Authority,
wherever applicable.
5. Admissions through Entrance Examination
-
Direct admission shall not be permitted in programmes where admission is based
on an Entrance Examination.
6. Preparation of Merit List
-
For programmes admitting students through an Entrance Examination, the Merit List
shall be prepared exclusively on the basis of marks obtained in the Entrance
Examination.
7. Minimum Eligibility Marks
-
No relaxation shall be allowed in the prescribed minimum qualifying marks.
For example, 44.9% shall not be treated as 45%.
8. Fee Category
-
The Fee Category under which a student is admitted (General, Paying, NRI, or
Self-Financing) shall remain unchanged throughout the duration of the programme.
B - Academic Promotion, Back Papers, and Examination Rules
1. Promotion to Next Semester
-
Students shall be promoted to the next class or semester only after
successfully passing the examination of the previous class or semester
in accordance with the University Regulations.
2. Admission with Pending Back Paper Result
-
Admission to the next class or semester shall not be granted while the
result of a Back Paper (Supplementary Examination) is pending.
3. Maximum Permissible Back Papers
-
A student may have back papers in a maximum of
five subjects (excluding Co-curricular and Vocational
subjects), including those from the previous semester.
4. Restriction on Admission due to Excess Back Papers
-
If a student has back papers in more than
five subjects, admission to the next
Odd Semester (Third or Fifth Semester)
shall not be permitted.
5. Students Using Unfair Means (UFM)
-
Students found guilty of using
Unfair Means (UFM) in University examinations shall
be allowed the corresponding additional period for completion of the
programme equivalent to the period for which they were debarred from
appearing in the examination.
6. Practical Examination Failure
-
Students who fail only in the Practical Examination shall be permitted
to seek admission as
Ex-Students for completing the Practical Examination
in accordance with the University Rules.
C – Reservation and Admission Weightage Policy
Admissions under the Reservation Policy shall be governed by the rules and
regulations of the Government of Uttar Pradesh and Guru Jambheshwar University,
Moradabad. Reservation benefits shall be available only to candidates who are
bona fide residents of Uttar Pradesh, unless otherwise specified.
1. Vertical Reservation
The following reservation shall apply:
- Other Backward Classes (OBC): 27%
- Scheduled Castes (SC): 21%
- Scheduled Tribes (ST): 2%
2. Horizontal Reservation
Horizontal reservation shall be provided as follows:
- Dependents of Freedom Fighters: 2%
- Dependents of Serving/Retired Defence Personnel: 5%
- Persons with Disabilities (PwD): 3%
- Women Candidates: 20%
3. Economically Weaker Section (EWS)
-
Candidates belonging to the
Economically Weaker Section (EWS) of the General
Category and who are bona fide residents of Uttar Pradesh shall be
eligible for reservation against
10% additional seats, as per Government Rules.
4. Candidates from Other States
-
A maximum of 5% of the approved intake may be filled
by candidates from States other than Uttar Pradesh, subject to merit.
5. Gap Year Deduction
-
For the purpose of preparing the Admission Merit List,
2% marks shall be deducted for each gap year after
the qualifying examination.
6. Additional Weightage
Additional weightage shall be awarded while preparing the Admission Merit
List, subject to a maximum of
10 Weightage Marks per candidate.

7. Tie-Breaking Criteria
In the event of two or more candidates securing equal qualifying marks,
preference shall be given in the following order:

Candidate securing higher marks in the
Intermediate Examination.
-
If still tied, the candidate securing higher marks in the
High School Examination.
-
If the tie persists, the
older candidate shall be given preference.
SECTION B
D - Special Rules for Undergraduate (UG) Programmes
1. Duration of the Programme
-
The B.A., B.Sc., and B.Com. programmes conducted under
the Semester System must be completed within a maximum
period of six (6) years from the date of admission.
2. Completion of the Programme
-
A student who fails to complete the programme within the prescribed
maximum duration shall not be eligible for re-admission to the same
Undergraduate Programme.
-
A student who has already obtained an Undergraduate Degree from the
University shall not be eligible for admission to another Undergraduate
Degree Programme in a different Faculty of the same University.
3. Simultaneous Enrolment
-
A student shall not be permitted to pursue two regular academic
programmes simultaneously.
4. Eligibility for B.Com. and B.Com. (Professional)
-
Candidates who have passed the Intermediate Examination in any stream,
including those who have studied Agriculture as a
subject, shall be eligible for admission to
B.Com. and
B.Com. (Professional) programmes, subject to the
eligibility criteria prescribed by the University.
5. Diploma and Postgraduate Diploma Courses
-
Admission to Diploma Programmes shall require a minimum
of 45% marks
(40% for SC/ST candidates) in the Intermediate
Examination.
-
Admission to Postgraduate Diploma Programmes shall
require a minimum of 45% marks
(40% for SC/ST candidates) in the qualifying Graduation
Examination.
SECTION C
E. Special Rules for Postgraduate (PG) Programmes
1. Duration of the Programme
-
The M.A., M.Sc., and M.Com. programmes conducted under
the Semester System must be completed within a maximum
period of four (4) years from the date of admission.
2. Second Master's Degree
-
A candidate who has already obtained a Master's Degree,
whether as a regular or private candidate, may seek admission to
another Master's Programme, subject to the University's eligibility
rules.
3. Minimum Eligibility
-
Admission to M.A. and M.Sc.
programmes shall require a minimum of
45% marks in the qualifying examination
(40% for SC/ST candidates), unless otherwise
prescribed by the University.
4. Subject Eligibility
-
Admission to M.A. or M.Sc.
programmes shall ordinarily be permitted only in the subject that
the candidate studied as a Major Subject in the
final year of the Bachelor's Degree Programme.
5. Non-Stream Admissions
-
Ten percent (10%) of the approved seats in
M.A. programmes shall be reserved for
Non-Stream Candidates (graduates from Science,
Commerce, or Law disciplines).

Candidates holding a B.A. Degree shall not be
eligible for admission under the Non-Stream category.
-
Admission under the Non-Stream category shall not be permitted in
practical or experimental subjects such as:
- Geography
- Music
- Painting
- Home Science
- Psychology
F. Rules Relating to Professional Programmes
1. Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.)
-
Admission to the B.Ed. programme shall be made
strictly in accordance with the rules, eligibility criteria, and
Entrance Examination prescribed by the
Government of Uttar Pradesh and the
National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).
2. Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA)
-
Candidates seeking admission to the
Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) programme
must have studied Mathematics at the
Intermediate (10+2) level.
3. Course Equivalence
-
The BBA and BCA programmes shall
be treated as equivalent to other Undergraduate Degree Programmes
for the purpose of higher education.
4. Eligibility for Postgraduate Programmes
-
Candidates holding a BBA Degree shall be eligible
for admission to:
- M.Com.
- M.A. (Economics)
-
Candidates holding a BCA Degree shall be eligible
for admission to:
- M.Sc. (Mathematics)
- M.Sc. (Computer Science)
5. Non-Stream Admissions
-
Candidates who have completed
BBA, BCA, or
B.Tech. programmes may seek admission to eligible
Postgraduate Programmes under the
Non-Stream Category, subject to the University's
rules.
G. Rules Relating to Transfer, Foreign Students, and Discipline
1. Transfer of Students
-
Students admitted to Self-Financed Colleges shall
not be permitted to transfer to Government or Government-Aided
Colleges.
-
Transfer from a Government or
Government-Aided College to a
Self-Financed College shall be permitted only upon
submission of a No Objection Certificate (NOC)
from the Principals of both institutions and with the approval of
the University.
2. Candidates from Open Universities
-
Candidates who have obtained qualifying degrees from recognized
Open Universities, including:
- Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU)
- Uttar Pradesh Rajarshi Tandon Open University (UPRTOU)
may apply for admission, subject to the University's regulations
regarding recognition and eligibility.
3. Employed Candidates
-
Candidates who are employed at the time of admission must submit a
No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their employer
for admission to a regular programme.
-
Such candidates must obtain the necessary leave to pursue their
studies.
-
Concealment of employment status or submission of false information
shall result in cancellation of admission.
4. Foreign Students
-
Foreign nationals seeking admission must obtain the required
No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the
Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India
and the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of
the concerned district, or any other authority as prescribed by law.
5. Discipline and Conduct
-
Admission shall be cancelled immediately if a student:
- Has a criminal background or history recorded by law enforcement authorities.
- Is found guilty of ragging.
- Engages in acts of indiscipline or misconduct.
- Is involved in activities prejudicial to the discipline and reputation of the institution.
-
Such students may also be debarred from future admissions to the
University, as per the applicable rules.
6. Sports Quota
-
The Vice-Chancellor may grant special permission
for admission under the Sports Quota to candidates
who have represented at the National or International level.
-
However, the Sports Quota shall not apply to programmes where
admission is based on an Entrance Examination, such as
B.Ed.
7. General Instructions
-
In the event of any dispute concerning admission rules or
procedures, the decision of the
University Admission Committee and the
Vice-Chancellor shall be final and binding.
-
Every candidate must ensure that all original documents and
certificates are produced for verification before admission is
confirmed.
Special Notes
1. Reservation Certificates
-
Candidates claiming reservation under the
Persons with Disabilities (PwD) category must
submit a valid disability certificate issued by the
Chief Medical Officer (CMO).
-
Candidates applying under other reserved categories must submit the
relevant certificate issued by the
District Magistrate (DM),
Tehsildar, or any other competent authority
prescribed by the Government.
2. Filling of Reserved Seats
-
If eligible candidates are not available under any reserved
category, the vacant seats shall be filled by candidates belonging
to the General Category, in accordance with the
applicable Government and University rules.
3. False Information
-
If any information furnished by a candidate in the Admission
Application is found to be false or misleading at any stage, the
admission shall be cancelled immediately, and appropriate
disciplinary and legal action may be initiated.
4. Confirmation of Admission
-
Mere registration or submission of an Admission Application Form
does not guarantee admission. Admission shall be considered valid
only when:
- The candidate appears before the Admission Committee on the scheduled date.
- The Principal or the authorized Admission Committee approves the admission.
- The word "Admitted" is endorsed on the Admission Application Form.
- The prescribed Admission Fee is deposited within the stipulated time.
5. Verification of Original Documents
-
Candidates must produce all original certificates and testimonials
at the time of document verification/interview. Admission shall not
be granted without verification of the original documents.
6. Decision of the Principal and Admission Committee
-
The decision of the
Principal and the
Admission Committee regarding admission shall be
final and binding in all matters.
-
The Principal reserves the absolute right to refuse or cancel
admission in accordance with the University and College rules.
7. Refund of Admission Fee
-
Admission Fees once deposited shall not be refunded under any
circumstances, except where otherwise provided under the
University or Government regulations.
8. Amendment of Admission Rules
-
The Principal reserves the right to amend or modify the Admission
Rules in accordance with the decisions of the College Admission
Committee and the University.
9. Venue for B.Sc. and M.Sc. Classes
-
All B.Sc. and M.Sc. classes shall
ordinarily be conducted at the College Campus located on
Kailsa Road.
10. Admission to M.Sc. Programmes
-
Admission to M.Sc. programmes shall be made only on
the basis of the Merit List/Selection List received from the
University.
Important Instructions for Students
1. Academic Activities and National Seminars
-
Every academic department of the College has its own
Subject Council, which regularly organizes
seminars, workshops, and academic activities each semester.
-
In addition, the College organizes a
National Seminar every year, generally in the
month of February, covering multiple disciplines.
-
The College has successfully organized
23 National Seminars, reflecting its strong
commitment to academic excellence and research.
2. University Examination Form
-
All regular students must complete their
University Examination Form online within the
prescribed schedule and submit a printed copy to the
College/University Office, obtaining an acknowledgement receipt.
-
Failure to do so may result in the student being debarred from
appearing in the University Examination, for which the student
shall be solely responsible.
3. Payment Receipts
-
Students must obtain an official receipt for every payment made to
the College. No payment should be made without obtaining a valid
receipt.
4. Attendance Requirement
-
A minimum of 75% attendance in each course is
mandatory.
-
Students failing to meet the prescribed attendance requirement may
not be permitted to appear in the University Examination, as per
University regulations.
5. College Working Hours
-
The normal working hours of the College are generally
8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., during which teaching and
other academic activities shall be conducted according to the
approved timetable.
6. Promotion and Improvement Examinations
-
Promotion to the next semester or year and
Improvement/Back Paper Examinations shall be
governed strictly by the rules and regulations of the University.
7. Submission of Original Certificates
-
Candidates seeking admission for the first time must submit the
original Transfer Certificate (T.C.) and
Character Certificate along with the Admission
Application Form.
8. Anti-Ragging Policy
-
Ragging is strictly prohibited.
-
As per the
Government of Uttar Pradesh and the
University Grants Commission (UGC) Regulations,
ragging is a punishable offence.
-
Any student found involved in ragging shall be liable for strict
disciplinary and legal action, including cancellation of admission.
9. Tobacco-Free Campus
-
The College is a Tobacco-Free Campus.
-
The use or possession of tobacco products, including
paan, gutkha, khaini, cigarettes, bidis, vaping devices,
intoxicating substances
, or any prohibited items, is
strictly forbidden within the College premises.
10. Prohibition of Alcohol and Intoxicants
-
Consumption or possession of alcohol and other intoxicating
substances within the College campus is strictly prohibited.
-
Violation of this rule shall invite stringent disciplinary action.
11. Admission Fee Deadline
-
Failure to deposit the prescribed Admission Fee within the notified
deadline shall result in forfeiture of the candidate's claim for
admission.
Mode of Fee Payment
1. Modes of Fee Payment
College fees may be deposited through any of the following modes:
-
SBI Collect, the online payment facility provided
by the State Bank of India (SBI).
-
By scanning the official SBI QR Code, wherever
applicable, through the authorized payment platform.
-
By depositing the fee at the
State Bank of India Branch Counter located on the
College campus.
2. Important Note
Payment of fees through Online Banking,
SBI Collect, SBI QR Code,
Paytm, or any other digital mode shall not by itself
confirm admission. Admission shall be treated as confirmed only after:

Payment of the prescribed Admission Fee within the stipulated time.
-
Submission of the payment receipt/transaction proof along with the
Admission Application.
-
Completion of all admission formalities and verification by the
College.
Student Participation
Student Welfare Committees
Various statutory and non-statutory committees
relating to student welfare and different student funds are constituted
in the College. As per the University norms, these committees include
representation from both teachers and
students, thereby promoting participative governance,
transparency, and active student involvement in the academic and
institutional activities of the College.
Instructions for Employed Students
Employment of Regular Students
Students admitted to regular programmes who are
employed in any Government,
Semi-Government, Public Sector, or
Private Organization must submit a valid
No Objection Certificate (NOC) issued by their
employer and ensure that they are granted the necessary leave to pursue
the programme.
Failure to disclose employment status or to submit the required
No Objection Certificate (NOC) may result in the
cancellation of admission.
University Enrolment Form
University Enrolment Form
Students must exercise utmost care while filling in the
University Enrolment Form. They are advised to seek
guidance from the concerned teachers, if necessary, while completing
the enrolment process for
B.A., B.Sc., and
B.Com. (First Semester) programmes.
Self-attested photocopies of the
High School and
Intermediate Mark Sheets must be attached with the
Enrolment Form wherever required.
